Podcasts Video and ebooks

This site is blocked 100% by the MCC therefore have not learnt anything relevant, being unable to investigate. I have read what the exercise is, and have viewed You Tube on my home computer. You Tube has a huge following. A few have made a career for themselves, becoming so popular as to be called a 'You Tube star", with Hollywood beckoning. For me the use at this stage, is a non event

Online Word Processor excercise

In this exercise a Google e-mail account was created to which on line documents can be e-mailed. Daisy+Duck is now ready to send and receive. Blocked sites do not make for ease of learning. The ease of use, allowing documents to be e-mailed from PC to PC to be edited by others is a beneficial speedy method.

Week 7 The thing

The Blogger Dashboard for this exercise has been read. Unfortunately a the social networking sites are blocked by MCC so the exercise cannot be completed. These sites are for social interaction. There are controls in place so that the user has control over who joins his/her Facebook, My SPACE or Bebo. Photos can be sent as well as text. As the site recommended cannot be viewed there is no more to be added.

Technorati & Del.icio.us

This site was searched. Unfortunately most Tags were blocked. Bookmarking makes searching easier. On the Del.icio.us site three bookmarks opened were Popular grammar lists, nine library sites and a list of World Colleges of Learning.

Not the most gripping places and there is no guarantee of the standard.

PLCMCL2's access was blocked to the tags which I tried to open, but judging from the numbers of viewers some areas were visited frequently.

Technorati & Del.icio.us are useful tools for searching the internet.

Wikis

At least the Wiki and Wikipaedia are clearer now, than before. Wikipedia can be a source of information but does not replace encyclopaedia produced from a recogonised source. Writers can begin a subject giving ideas, facts and opinion, which can be added to or changed, by others. Information should be validated when serious knowledge is sought. A wiki can be a question and answer forum. In Libraries wikis could have many uses, for staff to answer how a problem can be resolved, to provide Reading Lists for the different reading levels of the Library users. Lists of the new arrivals of items.
My blog link was added to favourites, and listed the favourite holiday destination.

Play with image generators Week 3 continued

At last another piece in the puzzle! Generators allow flexibility to move images and words to produce an individual images for many purposes. I have found that last week's image was not done correctly. At least I have moved along a little. Titles of five books have been added to my Library List. In Rollyo three web sites are selected and the title Black Beauty was searched with several items listed, although not all belonging to the classic tale by Anna Sewell.

Week two

Week two has now given me many more passwords and another URL to store in my diary and now the challenge will be which to choose for a site. The pattern is beginning to make sense, but very early stages yet. There are thirteen lines from the RSS Feed Reader on my blogline http://www.bloglines.com/blog/daisyduck13 .

week1

I am not at all used to using a programme and so a learning curve extends before me. During this session a name ,password and an e-mail account have been set up with a hard copy record kept otherwise all will be forgotten. Never let it be said or even thought that I am forgetful, but it is hard to be intelligent all the time, isn't it!

Hullo late starter

This blog is being done a little later than my fellow team members.
